In
the Driver’s Seat

The
average amount of deaths in America due to car crashes is 34,000
people each year. Driving comes with great responsibility and can
also have consequences. Everyone who drives or plans to drive during
their lifetime, needs to understand the importance of being a safe
and educated driver. Drivers ed is extremely important in
reducing the number of deaths due to driving. Being educated about
this topic will give drivers more information on the rules of the
road and how to properly handle any situation that could occur while
behind the wheel.

There
are many steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths
related to driving. One of these steps is to not be intoxicated in
any way while behind the wheel. Drunk driving causes a large number
of deaths in America each year. Another step that can be taken is to
avoid distractions. Drivers need to focus their attention on the road
and be aware and alert at all times.

Obeying
traffic laws is another important step that needs to be taken in
order to reduce the number of deaths related to driving. These laws
are in place for a reason and they help to ensure the safety of
drivers and others around them. One of the most important steps that
needs to be taken before driving is to put on a seatbelt. This way,
if a crash was to occur, all passengers with a seat belt on will have
a much greater chance of surviving the car accident.

I
have never experienced being in a car wreck, however I have seen how
negatively they can affect a person or family. One mistake while
driving can have detrimental consequences. I have not seen my friends
or family members drive irresponsibly which sets an example for me to
drive responsibly. Driving is a privilege and should be treated as
such. Drivers need to be educated and aware of how to be safe while
behind the wheel.

There
are steps that can be taken to be a better and safer driver as well
as help keep others safe on the road. Some of these steps include
keeping the car in good shape, minimizing distractions, educate
yourself and others on important rules of the road, and stay calm
while driving no matter the conditions. The car that is being driven
needs to be in the best shape possible. This includes tire checks,
oil checks, and other routine maintenance to ensure the car is safe
to drive. Being educated on important rules and laws will make for a
better driver overall. Driving needs to be taken seriously and
treated as a privilege to ensure the safety of all drivers.
