Drivers
education impacts the lives of many because those who know better, do
better. The fact that we learn the importance of driving safely is
beneficial for the lives of others and the life of the person behind
the wheel. In drivers ed people learn the steps to take to
ensure they are driving safely and what the repercussions are if they
don’t drive safely. This alone can reduce the number of deaths as
a result of driving.

Moreover,
some steps to take to reduce the number of deaths related to driving
can be to have phone companies put temporary locks on phones while
driving. Another way to reduce the number of deaths is to have phone
companies not allow texts to come through while driving. Also, apps
can be put on phones that give incentives for not being on the phone
while driving. Incentives can be like coupons for food, gift cards,
or money.

Unfortunately,
I have seen many people close to me drive irresponsibly. Many people
I know text and drive. Also, I’ve seen people be on social media
while driving. Sometimes I felt unsafe while it was happening, so I
reminded them to put it away.

With
this I feel like I can help the people I love be safer while driving
by reminding them to put their cell phones away. I feel like if they
have a constant reminder that they will think more and make wiser
decisions. I can become a better driver by not being on the phone
and driving even at stop lights.
