Driver
education can impact a driver in a number of ways. It changes the way
a driver acts behind the wheel, how they treat the power a vehicle
gives them, and they look at any casualties that occur on the road.
If a driver does not experience the life lessons drivers ed
teaches they will not be capable of understanding the importance and
affects every decision they make has on the road. Drivers ed is
an important step in everyone’s life no matter their age. It creates
safety that has no other way of being taught. As someone who is
motivated to reduce the number of driving related deaths I have
created a PSA that talks about the importance of wearing seat belts
while in a moving vehicle. I feel that the only way to reduce the
number of driving related deaths is to show drivers everywhere that
their actions have consequences. It is difficult for people to look
at something as serious as death in the eye. If a reckless driver
does not understand what the effects of their driving are they will
not break their unforgivable patterns. If a driver attend a mandatory
program like drivers ed these problems will decrease over time
because of the growing awareness. When I was sixteen I was in a car
accident that left me with minor injuries luckily. However, the
accident was because of my friends own impatience. Her inability to
take the time to check her surroundings could have led to a much
worse accident. This experience has made me appreciate those who take
the time to be safe drivers and those who understand that one wrong
turn can have a devastating result. Being a safe driver is my type
priority when I enter my vehicle. The first thing I do when I get
into a car is turn my phone off and put it in the glove box in order
to ensure that I am not a distracted driver. I also make sure I and
everyone in my car has their seat belt on. I feel that these two
steps seem small and insignificant but when put to use they can be
the difference between someones life.
