Drive Safe

Driving education plays a crucial role in reducing the number of deaths caused by driving. Driving education helps individuals develop the necessary skills and awareness to be more responsible and reduce more deaths. To keep safe while driving is to know rules and regulations about traffic laws and driving techniques as well as proper vehicle handling. Especially for new drivers who don’t usually know too much about traffic laws. This also implies to me because before I did drive education, I didn’t know much about traffic laws such as when to stop for pedestrians and when to go a certain amount speed. So, I would say that driving education equipped me well with safety skills and improved a better driver. Making these right decisions can potentially reduce hazards safer. Also leads to less injuries and facilities. This proves that driving education is essential for promoting road safety and saving lives. It is very important that we take this education very seriously because too many deaths have been caused by reckless driving. We can stop the deaths numbers by doing these steps and applied to when we drive.

Several steps can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving. The steps include such as enforcing traffic laws, promoting awareness of safe driving practices and improving roads. Personally, I think the most effective strategy is to be stricter with people who drive drunk and people who text while driving. Most car crash accidents happen due to drunk driving. When people are drunk, their minds and vision are not right so they can’t see well. Most often they either crash into other cars or pedestrians who are just walking along the street. Most of the time, these people will drive away after they committed this act and leave the victim behind the scenes. It is very important that officials and lawmakers look deeper into this cause because this is the main cause of this number of deaths from driving. It’s important for individuals, communities, and governments to work together to prioritize road safety and save lives.

Speaking of car crashes, I have also been the victim of being involved in car crashes. It happened in 2020 right after I was going home from my soccer game. It was later at night, around 10 p.m. after dropping off my friend. We were stopping at the stop light and out of nowhere this car was coming at a very fast speed (if I can guess I would say around 60mph). Our car flew and flipped over and fortunately by God’s grace; I wasn’t injured that bad. However, my dad was unconscious for about 30 minutes, and I looked at my dad with a terrifying and scared face because he was unconscious. Since our car was flipped the only way to get out was to kick the door so I kicked my passenger door and eventually got out. I walked over to my dad and was in tears then I went to call the house nearby for assistance and call one of my closest friends and 9-1-1. Eventually help arrived at the scene and me and my dad were taken to the hospital. Since I didn’t receive nanny wounds and my injuries was not extreme, I was released the next day where my dad was released after a week. After that accident I have been very careful when I drive.

I hope people can learn from this lesson or from my experience of how important safe driving is. To become a better and safer driver, first and foremost is to follow traffic laws and regulations like I said before. Following rules always leads to good things such as in life. It comes with a reward. Next is to avoid distractions that you might encounter such as you might see people doing something stupid on the road or being on your phone or eating while driving. This thing can divert your attention from the road. Maintaining a good certain distance from other vehicles is important too. Because getting too near a vehicle can cause a collision. Always be aware of your surroundings and regularly check your mirrors and blind spots to make sure you have time to avoid hazards on the road. Also, be mindful that you are not the only road user, so be mindful other road users such as pedestrians can cyclists and give them the space and respect, they deserve. When you go to different states, make sure there is more than one driver because if one driver drives 10 hours by himself/ he will be too tired to be driving and it will be dangerous. So, make sure there is always a backup driver to take turn driving and that way you can get to your destination safely. Being a responsible driver, you can make a positive impact on the safety of yourself and others. Be a leader in anywhere you go.
