Driver’s education plays a major role in helping with reducing the number of deaths resulting from driving. The key reasons on why driver education is important is because drivers education programs give drivers the necessary skills & things they need to know so that they can drive the car safely. They learn about road signs, traffic laws, how to handle a lot of driving situations & driving techniques. Having that knowledge helps them make better decisions and helps them drive appropriately on the road. Driver education helps people understand the risks that can help and the dangers that come with driving. They learn about the consequences that come with reckless driving, & being distracted while driving. By knowing of these risks, most drivers take their driving & safety seriously. Drivers ed lets you know the importance of driving techniques, which are safely watching out for hazards while driving. This would be taking a safe route while driving, watching the road for dangers & being prepared for situations that you might not expect to happen. Them skills can reduce the chances of accidents. Drivers ed also helps drivers have the right attitude & behavior while driving. Helps them know the importance of obeying traffic laws, respecting other drivers & being considerate while driving. By having these attitudes, drivers education helps with safe driving and reduces the risk of accidents that can be caused by reckless and aggressive behavior. Steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving would be recommending drivers education programs that help with safe driving, traffic rules & driving techniques. Talk about the consequences of drunk driving, reckless driving, being distracted while driving & speeding through roads where you are supposed to stay at a certain speed. Letting people know how important it is to take traffic laws seriously like speeding limits, using a seatbelt, driving under the influence, would also help reduce the number of deaths related to driving. More police on roads to watch out for dangerous driving & making sure people are following traffic rules is another step that could be taken. Law enforcement should also consider having strict measures to detect and stop people from driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. For example stopping people who are driving out of the ordinary (sobriety checkpoints). Using technology to help with road safety can help reduce accidents as well. Using systems that help with traffic information, speed enforcement, and car to car communication systems which would help stop collisions. Improving public transportation systems would help with providing people with safe and convenient transportation options. Encouraging people to use public transportation, bicycling, and walking can reduce the number of cars on the road and reduce the risk of car accidents. Monitoring road safety helps with identifying areas that need improvement. They should collect data and analyze data on accidents, and deaths to determine what and where they should work on improving. Yes, ive been involved in a car accident before. My brother was driving and when it was his turn to turn left down the street a car came darting towards us and hit the passenger side of the car where I was sitting. It was a terrifying experience and everyday I thank god that I’m still alive and well. I’ve also witnessed someone that I know of get into a bad accident where she broke her thumb, that was also another terrifying car accident. Steps that I am willing to take to become a better and safer driver and also help the people around me become safer on the road would be following all traffic laws, learning them one by one, including speed limits, traffic signals, and road signs. Those laws are made to make sure there’s safety for everyone that drives. I’ll avoid distractions while driving, like using my phone, eating, or doing anything that would take my attention away from the road. I’ll keep my focus on driving and be aware of my surroundings. I’ll keep a safe distance from the car in front of me so it’ll help me have time to respond if there is any changes in traffic. I’ll use my turn signals to let other drivers know what my actions are, it’ll reduce the risk of car accidents. I’ll be aware of other drivers behavior. Maintaining a safe speed while on the road, constantly checking my mirrors, and I’ll be prepared for unexpected situations. I won’t drive aggressively, like speeding, tailgating, or swerving through traffic. Those actions will put me in danger & other drivers therefore I’ll refrain from driving in those ways. I’ll pay attention to pedestrians, people who bicycle, and people who ride motorcycles. I’ll give them space and always yield the right of way when it’s necessary for me to do so. I will stay sober while driving, there will be so alcohol, drugs or anything that can affect my ability to drive safely to my destination. With this knowledge I’ll help others around me and encourage them to follow traffic laws and be safe drivers. I’ll let them know about data, consequences and how important it is to drive safely. Practicing safe driving & responsible behavior can help the environment become safer for everyone while driving.
