It’s Too Late
Screech!
Bong! The
sour odor of iron with the mixture of her scent filled my nose.
Oozing blood painted the monotone asphalt bright red, which spread as
if a lycoris had just bloomed. It was that easy how people die. I had
witnessed a friend of mine get hit by a truck long ago right in front
of me. Though it was only a mere second, the driver of the truck who
gave her attention to another rather than the road caused one death
of an innocent child. I came to realize from the early childhood
experience of the dangers that exist on the road as well as the
sinfulness of those irresponsible drivers.
As
people get used to driving, as time goes by they often forget about
what exactly they have learned from drivers ed. This must be
prevented due to its effectiveness in reducing the number of deaths
caused by driving. Drivers ed provides drivers with the
necessary knowledge that is to be kept at all times when driving. It
supports them to gain skills that should be used at times in need.
The written tests and on-road tests scale the safety levels along
determining people’s applicability as a driver. Those essential
driver’s academic reduces the risk of future accidents and the
death rate from driving. If those people were to forget about what
they have learned, then the existence of drivers ed would lose
its meaning, which eventually would cause total havoc, such as that
driver who murdered my friend back then.
Other
than the proper drivers ed, such ways to decrease the number of
deaths from driving include reminding what has been taught from
drivers ed, being extra safe for whatever actions took, and
keeping in mind all possible consequences that could come true
because of themselves. Just by doing so would definitely lower the
death rate due to the fact that those ways raise the awareness of the
drivers so that they are more careful than others who do not.
Besides
my friend that passed, my mother also experienced a car accident as
well. I was even younger back then in kindergarten and my mother had
a side collision with another car while I was still at school. It
left her a severe arm injury on the right arm all the way to the
hand, which she had to get a special electronic treatment every once
in a while. My mother nowadays though it has been a long time still
struggles with her disability on her arm.
For
myself and others to become better, and most of all safer driver, I
would share this story and remind both me and others that driving
always consist of threats. Whether it is major or minor, it is
incredibly crucial to keep in mind that even a second of distraction
and absence of focus to the road could lead to major accidents that
might cause death. Please drive safe.
