Driver Education 2020 – Safe Driving, Happy Driving

It has been shown that
drivers ed reduces the amount of accidents. It is important to
start young adults and kids with a driving education before obtaining
a driver’s permit or license. The better educated they are, the
more likely they are to follow the laws in place to keep us safe on
the road. The younger they start, the more experience they will have
to prepare to become a driving citizen. That being said, I believe
that people should be able to start drivers ed sooner rather
than later, and extend the amount of drivers ed that the law
abides by today. The longer they have to educate themselves, the more
likely roads are going to be safer for everyone. There are plenty of
steps that can be taken to avoid reckless and irresponsible driving.
There should always be a designated driver in order to avoid an
intoxicated or buzzed driver. People should avoid texting and
driving, and stay within the bounds of the speed limit. Also, driving
a reliable car is extremely important. Somewhat recently, I was in a
minor car accident with my mother. We were rear ended when my mother
was driving. The car behind us wasn’t paying attention, and didn’t
brake quick enough. The driver behind us was on his phone and dropped
it. He went to pick it up, and didn’t brake in time. I think it is
safer to always have someone else in the car. I think it is safer
that way because the passenger can hang onto their phone as they
drive to avoid texting and driving. It also makes the driver think
about the other person’s safety, not just themselves. Having a
passenger in the car also helps them stay within the speed limit
because the individual that isn’t driving can help make sure they
are following the rules of the road. If there is a passenger, they
can also drive if the driver starts to get buzzed. These steps are
the key to a safer and happier atmosphere when driving.
