Proper
drivers ed is the most fundamental step in reducing the number
of driving related deaths. It is essential to have the proper
education because, as it is with any skill, you can’t begin to gain
experience without learning the basics first. A few steps that can be
taken to reduce driving related deaths include the following. 1: Make
sure you and others are properly educated on the correct way to drive
safely. 2: Be smart about driving (i.e. don’t drink or use drugs
before driving). 3. Reduce distractions while driving, as there are
already a lot of distractions on the road. Don’t use your phone, it
can wait. To be a better driver, you can make sure you are always
aware of your surroundings and don’t take any unnecessary risks while
driving. Being an aggressive driver doesn’t get you to your
destination any faster; it will only get you to the hospital or
prison faster. Put your phone on silent or turn it off while driving,
or if you do keep your phone on, let your passenger handle it for
you. The most important thing while driving is driving, and nothing
else matters. Also be sure to wear seat belts, and make sure your car
is working properly, otherwise you are a hazard on the road.
