Why Motor Vehicle Accidents Happen

Why
Motor Vehicle Accidents Happen

The
importance of being aware when driving on the road is to be sure to
be careful with the lives not only in the car but outside of your
car. When being aware of your surroundings, it will decrease the
number of deaths that occur in the world because of drivers. When
earning your driver’s license you agree to drive responsibly and not
many people keep that agreement.

Drunk
drivers are the most popular reason why deaths happen on the road.
Drunk drivers will always be present as long there are parties and
celebrations are going on, but to decrease the chance of death
happening that night is by taking away the person’s car keys if they
are planning to drink or calling them a taxi to prevent them from
driving home drunk. When a person is intoxicated they cannot think
straight nor see where they are going because alcohol is clouding
their judgment. If a person is planning to drink, they need to drink
responsibly and not drive while they are intoxicated. Drunk drivers
aren’t the only reason why car accidents and deaths happen, but as
well as people who do drugs. When a person plans to do drugs they
need to be sure to not be on the road because just like alcohol the
drugs play the same mind game with the brain of the person. Drugs and
Alcohol play with the brain, making the person misjudge the
capability of their actions.

Underage
drinking is at its all-time high, more than a third of the motor
vehicle

accidents
happen among people aged sixteen through twenty from being
intoxicated. To decrease these incidents parties that are happening
in a house should be stripped of any alcohol that is lying around,
preventing the underage people from having access to any alcohol. I
have not experienced a car accident, but my father lost his best
friend from drunk driving. Till this day my father regrets letting
him leave when his best friend told him he was fine to drive. This
only takes one time, one decision, one drink, and one person’s life
turns your perspective of drinking and driving. My father lost his
best friend and won’t ever be able to have one last conversation
with him or see him smile, but he knows he is in a better place even
though he wishes he had stopped him that night to prevent a
horrifying car accident that took his best friend’s life.

To
stop underage drinking and drunk driving, alcohol needs to be
restricted per person. No one wants to lose a loved one because of
one choice they have made. If people are planning to become
intoxicated they need to plan and sign a designated driver who will
stay sober and steer away from and alcoholic beverages as well as
drugs. People will need to not only think about their lives, but
others live that they can be risking. People need to remember it only
takes on time, one decision, and one person to choose that which will
not risk their own life, but others that are driving not thinking
that nothing is going to happen to them.
