Importance
of Drivers ed!

My
mother is currently a bus driver for my old high school, there has
been many nights that she has come home to tell me about another
student driving accident that has happened. She is constantly making
sure we understand just how dangerous driving can be. Something I
hear often is “I’ve
been driving for forty years; trust me, I know how to drive”. Yes,
you have been driving for a long time but that doesn’t exactly mean
you’re good at it; you could have just been lucky for a really long
time. The truth is, all it takes is one accident; one moment of you
not paying attention and something horrible can happen. This is why
we need even more training on drivers ed. When I went through
drivers ed, I only had a few weeks to learn everything about driving
(including road signs, different types of lanes, things to do when
buses stop, etc). By the end of the week, I was so overwhelmed and
felt like I didn’t obtain as much as I could’ve if I’d had
longer. The best way to prevent more accidents and deaths caused by
driving is to be very well educated on the subject and to always pay
attention when driving!
