Knowing can save yourself but learning can save lives

Many times, on the road we tend to find new ways to improve our
driving knowledge and increase a level of safety in the environment.
These new ways are the next step in the driving world to decrease
deaths during driving. The value of having self-awareness and always
learning on the road is that with knowledge and learning you can
predicate and observe signs around you so you can have the best
decisions to make on the road to not only save your life but others
as well. With the education of the road, drivers can predicate and
prevent deaths on the road by just the key training to see the
necessary actions to take in any given situation. The common steps
drivers on and off the road can take is more courses and classes on
the signs of people who are road raging.

Another step
is to increase the communication skills from driver to driver and
driver to pedestrians to prevent any deaths within the road or even
the sidewalks. Lastly, the biggest key to prevent deaths on the road
is to learn to be as self-aware as possible, the ultimate device that
lures us away from that is our cellphones. We as drivers need to keep
in mind other drivers’ lives and as well as your own. In my 18
years of living I have heard countless stories of people getting into
accidents and personally getting into an accident myself.

This
accident is something that I will never forget. I was coming home
from a basketball tournament in Rhode Island and we were on the
highway when suddenly, a car on the side of the bus tried to go in
front of the bus to take an exit. The bus then screeched on the brake
which hit the car and threw everyone off their seats, the car was
totaled but everyone was a little shaken up. After a while when
things calmed down the driver admitted to the bus driver that she
didn’t have her turning signals on and therefore the bus driver
didn’t know she wanted to turn on to the exit. The moral of the
story and of this entire essay is to have the best level of
communication because with the best level of communication many
deaths and near-death experiences can be prevented with just having a
level of self-awareness and others can notice you on the road.

The ultimate
pillar and the preventer of deaths on the road is the lack of
communication and with the help of teaching and learning, we can end
the issue of deaths on the road and together start a safe environment
on the road in the future.
