Drivers ed Scholarship

Driver
education helps people understand the rules of the road and how to
apply them to real life situation to prevent future accidents.
Drivers ed also explains the consequences of reckless and
distracted driving. Distracted driving is one of the leading causes
of deaths for teens who are driving. People need to understand the
seriousness of when they drive they are putting not only their life,
but also all the lives of the people around them into their hands.
When people understand the risk of driving, then we will have a safer
country where individual’s drive safely.

We
need to educate more individuals of the dangers of distracted and
intoxicated driving and we need to inform people of the different
rules and regulations that exist around the country. If people
understand the rules and how to properly execute them, then fewer
accidents will happen due to someone making a mistake at a stoplight
or not waiting for a certain car to pass, etcetera. People need to
understand the risk they put on other when they get behind a two
thousand pound death machine and begin drive carelessly like no one
else matters.

I
have been in two car accidents personally, one of another drivers
doing and the second my grandfathers fault who was driving. The one
where I was driving involved me, my best friend, and another
individual. I was turning off the highway to go home and had my turn
signal on, but I was unable to go yet due to the traffic coming from
the other lane. My best friend stopped behind me waiting for me to
turn into my driveway, when another person going sixty miles an hour
slammed into the back of my best friend’s truck causing his truck
to slam into the back of my SUV. I was latter told the third
individual was not paying attention and when they realized they
should stop it was too late. The second accident was when I was a
child and my grandfather was going along a gravel road. He always
would “pretend” to go into one of the two ditches that were on
either side of the gravel road. He did the same “trick” this
time on the gravel was looser so the truck slid and went into the
ditch upside down. My grandfather and I were both fine, but the
truck was stuck in the ditch for a couple of days.

One
of the key ways of being a better driver is to make sure to put away
all distractions before you get into the car. This is a way to
insure you will be less likely to become distracted while driving.
Also make sure you know where you are going and have a general idea
of the direction in your head so you are less likely to become lost.
The most important thing is to make sure you are not intoxicated in
the slightest, so you can ensure you and everyone else is safe.
