Cautionary Tale
I’ll never forget the time my father sat me down to tell me that my mother had been in a car accident that involved multiple cars, including a truck, and whereas her car had completely flipped. I wasn’t allowed to see my mother of course because her injurers had been so severe and she thankfully survived and recovered but the experience had lingered in my mind ever since. I was very wary and hesitant when I first started driving but I’d be lying if I said educating myself was a mistake. It was very important to have learned the dangers of driving because not only was I taught on the dangers and consequences of driving but also how to prevent it from happening. However, due to my mom’s case I want it so once a year, drivers take a bare-bones exam on how to drive safely so that when driving, the knowledge will stay with them. I want to volunteer in re-educating adults at the driving school I went to, so I can give back and continue their overlooked but yet essential service.
