Bam! The dreadful screech could be heard along the busy highway 78. Thursday august 20th, I Christian Wauchope was involved in a major car accident. While, traveling to a mobile service. Traveling at about 75 miles an hour, my 2004 Chevy Tahoe’s driver side rear tire exploded. Causing my truck to go across three lanes of traffic, smash into the guard rail, and flip three times landing upside down. Now I know your wondering, how did I walk away from that unharmed? Truth is I do not really know myself. However, what I do know is God left me here for a reason. I would like to talk about the importance of driver education and safety, and the importance of teaching this in schools. During this essay I would also like evaluate and assess what I should have done if I had the proper knowledge.

Why we should teach and educate young drivers on the importance of driver education. I will tell you to help reduce the number of teenage deaths caused by driving. The leading cause of death in teenagers ages 15-20 are caused by car accidents. As a teen driver aged 17, I find this information troubling and quite scary. I believe the government should offer free Drivers ed. classes in all high schools. For example, it is required to take the Joshua’s law class in Georgia at the age of 16, most children cannot take these classes for two main reasons. They cannot afford these classes and do not know where to take these classes. Offering these classes provided, students can get the information they need to become a safe educated driver.

What I could have done to be a better and safer driver. During the accident, if I reacted differently, I could have avoided flipping and losing my truck. If I attended a proper driving class, the professor would have explained that I should have calmed down and slowly applied pressure to the brake. This would have stopped me causing all of the destruction I caused. This small amount of information would have helped me or any other child who has been in my situation. For the souls who didn’t have the information that could have potentially saved here lives or helped them avoid hurting themselves severely, would want the new age and generation of teen drivers to get the proper education they where never afforded. So please, let us implement drivers ed classes in schools today.
