Better Late than Never!

Driver’s Ed is a requirement for all teens to go through if they desire to get their license at the age of 15-17. Why should we attend driver’s ed? It is expensive and some might say it isn’t worth our time, but that is where they are wrong. For the safety of not only the teen, but everyone who drives their vehicle, driver’s education is what is keeping everyone safe. Without the lessons they teach, what would become of those young drivers out there? Driver’s ed teaches students by not only sitting through the class but giving real life scenarios of how the world is out there. This essay will be used to inform not only teens, but adults and parents on how important driver’s ed is.

Various driving schools require their students to pay 100% attention in class, and it is not bore them, but to teach them what the world is out there. Driving is another step heading to adulthood for various teens, and with that step they are helped by attending driver’s ed. During the driver’s ed class, they show videos, give assignments, and these assignments include from knowing the parts of our car to knowing what each traffic sign means. They show videos on the consequences of texting and driving, in which they show how it can completely transform the persons live and in not the best way. The reason that driver’s ed reduces the numbers of death is because they teach us that our actions have consequences. The cause being texting and driving or driving while intoxicated, which ultimately can lead to death. Without driver’s education engraving these constant reminders, more cases of death for teens would raise.

Personally, today when I am writing this on October 14, 2020, it marks a year of me getting my license, and without a trace of me getting into an accident nor a ticket. It is all because I attended driver’s ed. Due to driver’s ed, I was able to learn how to maneuver a car, make turns, and learned how to prevent anything from happening to me or to others on the road. My friend on the other hand did not attend driver’s ed, and to him it was easier to drive without learning the right way. To him it seemed unimportant, but without those lessons he got into an accident, and my other friend ended up getting a ticket since he was driving without his license. These scenarios can happen to anyone but can easily be prevented by attending those driving classes.

Ways to be a better and safer driver, is by taking all you learned in driver’s ed and not just hear what they had to say but do what you were taught. To put your blinker, be aware of your surroundings, do not be on the phone, and simply to not speed no matter the rush you are in. It is better to get there late, than not get there at all.
