Think again
Think again
You might not realize it, but driving is a luxury thing to do. I know people who are adults and don’t know how to drive. Now, in these days, you could say it’s a need to get around, but it could be a dangerous need. When on the road, I have seen drivers trying to multitask. Whether that be texting and driving, eating and driving, or just really distracted from the other individuals they have in the car with them. With just a glimpse off the road, even if it’s just for a second, you might cause something never expected. Things could change within just a second. I don’t understand why people try to be on their phones when driving. This is not safe to themselves and to those with them, but also to the other drivers on the same road.
Before learning how to drive, one must learn the rules and laws. Then they will be tested for their knowledge and understanding, to then follow the process of passing the driver’s test. There is a reason for everything and why we need to follow a certain process to attain a certain something. With adults who are driving recklessly or not thinking about others, I want to ask them to think again. Think again because if you are the cause for that accident, the individual who received the impact might be someone you know or a friend. Doesn’t matter who it is, every life counts. His or her life is not less important than yours. Think again because they might be a son or a daughter and you will be causing great suffrage for that family. Don’t forget you are a part of a family, what if it was you? What if it was one of your family members? Seeing anyone you solemnly care about get hurt, is impactful. Two years ago, my dad along with my brothers in the car, got hit. All because a young adult decided to pass a red light. He stepped on the gas when my dad got the green light. Receiving the crash all on the driver’s side and motioning my dad’s vehicle to hit another car. Not even being able to open his door, my dad made sure that my brothers were okay and that everyone else was in good condition. This caused my dad to not work for more than six months, limiting us to bring in money in our household. My dad was the only one in our household working and bringing in money for we could get by the month. You never know whom you are putting at risk, so think again. I know that when driving you might be a safe driver, but what about others? The others might be driving beyond a speed limit, or passing a red light to not brake, or swerving every car to get faster to their destination. We can’t control others’ actions, but we only control our actions. I am going to be driving soon and I am going to be very cautious of others. I am never going to use my phone while driving.
For something being a useful need, it could also be what takes life. With this comes big responsibility and every individual should take this in mind.
