Learn to Drive

Safe driving is something I feel most people don’t think about. I have members of my family that drive like they have no brains and no one ever says anything, not even me. It’s almost like everyone has gotten so used to it that they just let it slide. It’s unfortunate the fact that people can get their license and then never follow the rules.

For one thing, speed limits are posted for a reason! They are not a suggestion. This is the one thing I feel people let loose first, or care the least about following. I can’t tell you how many times I have sat at a stop sign and people on the road in front of me just zoom in front of me. I know for a fact some of these people are not going the post thirty-five miles per hour. It quite frankly is very selfish. People who do this absolutely do not care at all about the people around them and it truly shows. Not only is it dangerous to yourself, but everyone on the road could possibly be in a serious accident.

Another big issue I tend to have with drivers on the road is the fact these people don’t pay attention. They are literally driving a death machine, and they aren’t paying attention at all to the road or other driver’s around them. It drives me crazy when I see somebody on their phone and pulling onto the interstate at the same time. There is no way they had one hundred percent attention on the road to merge, while also scrolling on their phone. I truly believe phone laws are really laid back where I live. If you are seen with your phone in your hand while the vehicle is moving, that should be subject to a ticket. It is just not worth risking everyone’s life.

These issues for me are truly irritating. One of my favorite things to do is drive, I love it. With that being said, I also like to do it safely. I wish I could trust everyone else on the road which is why I tend to not drive unless I need to. When I do drive, I pay attention the entire time. I have to be on full alert because I never know what crazy thing might be pulled when I am out and about.

I guess by reading this it is obvious I have a little portion of road rage in me but it is just the worse. If everyone drove how they were supposed to, so many families would have their loved ones back. Driving laws are way too loose and need to be strengthened up. They are there for your safety, not to diminish you. If rules were followed problems, death, and injuries would be avoided. It’s shameful to me knowing that things happen through idiocy. Yet there is such a simple fix, but no one cares so no one listens, which is unfortunate for everyone who has to drive.
