Reduce Deaths from Driving

The importance in driving education in reducing the number of deaths as a result of driving is allow drivers to be more knowledgeable about certain situations while driving and how to deal with them. Driving can be very dangerous, and you probably wouldn’t be aware of all the dangers of driving unless you experienced it. The thing is though that many people end up losing their life in those situations because they weren’t told how to maneuver through them until its too late. Driving education informs drivers about some of the situations you might encounter on the road and how one can either avoid or maneuver through them without having to go through it yourself. Some steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths while driving is to adjust both your rear-view and side view mirror before you start driving to get the best scope to see drivers at different angles. Another tip for driving is to always use your light flicker to indicate to other drivers on the road that you want to switch lanes or make a turn. Many people forget to do this because they assume that the other driver will give them enough space to make their lane switch or turn. Because of the lack of communication, the other driver would do something that you weren’t expecting which can cause an accident. I have experience one of my family members drive irresponsibly by using their phone while they were on the highway. They were using social media and they kept looking down and looking up. I was scared because I’ve heard so many stories about how driving while using your phone has claimed the lives of so many people. I was telling him to put the phone down and focus on driving, and that phone won’t go anywhere and once we get out the car you can use your phone as much as he wants. He was refusing at first saying that nothing is going to happen. I told him you don’t know for sure and all it takes it one time for it ruin your life forever or even end it. He eventually put it down because he saw how persistent I was about it. Some steps I will take to become a better and safer driver are to pay close to attention to the action of other drivers and to not speed. A car accident isn’t limited to one person; the action of other drivers can put you in bad situations that can lead to crashes. I will pay close attention to other driver’s movements and if I feel like uncomfortable by the way they are driving, I will switch lanes or stay away from them. I will also speed less because its easy to think speeding will get you to your destination faster, but it only opens possibilities of getting into accidents, so I will be driving at an appropriate speed.
