Driving is perhaps one of the most dangerous daily activities that we do. In order to drive safely, you need to know the dangers of the road and how to counteract these dangers. This is where driver’s education comes into play, they teach you how to drive and avoid these dangers. They provide all the information you need to learn to avoid common driving mistakes. These driving mistakes will lead you to death and they teach you the correct habits to avoid them. Like check your blind spot before merging.

I believe the problem with driver education is that it doesn’t teach you how to drive. You can’t learn just looking at text and pictures. My driver’s education was to finish an online course that was very useless for me. It was mainly common sense and some discrete knowledge that will not help me drive. Then the test I took to get it did not help me learn to drive. I did not study it and only got stuff wrong that was useless like how many points do you gain if you get a ticket or something. The driver’s lessons were only a couple of times and weren’t clearly enough to learn how to drive safely. The only reason I passed my driver’s test and became a good driver was first hand knowledge of driving. My parents were willing to spend lots of time to teach me how to drive and this built me good habits. I spent many hours learning how to drive and there are many people who spent way less time and only did the bare minimum of hours and requirements. We need the people to have way more driver’s lessons and get rid of the test and the studying course.

I was in a car with one of my best friends’ parents and they scared me because they drove super aggressively and liked to break a lot of traffic rules. He would cover two lanes on the highway sometimes and would go down 20 miles above speed limit above down hill. It would scare me and also his car was very rickety and swore it sounded like it was going to break down any moment. I had to deal with his scary driving for 6 hours and I did not ever want to be in his car again.

Well for me I just need to drive to not get rusty in driving because most of the mistakes I make are due to me not being used to it or just forgetting how to do it. I plan to drive at least once a week or do all the driving for my family when we do our activities to stay experienced. To help others be better drivers I will explain all up and coming drivers to learn by firsthand experience and do more then the driver’s lessons. To go further and beyond then what they give for you to learn. Because the driver’s education program I learned was pretty bad and they were more of requirements and not a learning experience.
