The Underestimated Value of Drivers Education

There is an incredible number of individuals who either may not realize or may not care to learn about the ins and outs of driving. There are also many rules associated with driving ranging from things as simple as stopping at stop signs to the easily avoidable yet sadly and much too common intoxicated driving. If everyone on the road were to follow the rules that have been taught to them about being on the road, there are many lives that could have been saved. There are countless lives lost every day due to drivers’ inability to stop at a sign that is easily noticeable and easily readable letters “stop” yet people still don’t acknowledge these signs. The lessons and values taught through drivers’ education can help individuals realize the importance of stop signs. Some steps that should be taken to reduce the deaths related to driving should include making things more convenient for the drivers. While yes declaring how many deaths a year are caused by dicing accidents may work on some people, many individuals won’t understand the importance of driver’s education unless someone close to them passes away from a similar incident. Therefore, we need to use different methods so we can avoid the situation before it starts such as Uber has with drunk drivers.I was told about a time when a personal friend who was in a wreck would have lost his life had it not been for his seatbelt. My friends’ mother was driving at a location in their neighborhood with many exits covered with bushes, making it difficult to detect incoming traffic. As his mother was driving, my friend detected movement coming from their right side. The movement culminated into another car speeding towards them and as a result, my friend’s mother decided to speed inorder to make it past the other car to avoid collision; Unfortunately, both cars came in collision. The only thing my friend remembered was lifting in the air only to be stopped by his seat belt. After seemingly forever he took off his seat belt and managed to get his mom out of the car, then went to check on the other driver who was unconscious but showed no serious injuries. The three of them stood there until the ambulances showed up to be taken to the hospital. The accident my friend suffered, along with my own personal encounters while driving, have taught me driving is not a race in which one needs to speed through. Driving is not only knowing what to do in order to maneuver a vehicle, but also how to be patient as in order to work around those who are impatient behind the wheel. Staying patient while driving is principal to avoid crashes. Speeding will assist in getting to a location faster; However, the consequences are not worth risking. Take the time to think patiently while being a safe driver.
