Educated Driving = Better Driving
Educated Driving = Better Driving
Becoming an educated driver is something that is necessary in everyone’s life. It not only helps you know what to do on the road, but it may also save lives. Ignoring often neglected rules, such as slowing down on a yellow light, can sometimes seem harmless. However, the truth is that by ignoring these rules people are endangering themselves and everyone on the road. Getting hit in the side is a lot worse than having to wait a few minutes. Driving education is key to preventing accidents like that and decreasing the number of deaths caused by driving.
There are several steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving. Starting practice driving at a young age can help get some of the fundamentals of driving set in stone and build up a good foundation. Taking driving lessons helps people learn the way that the driving world works. Annually brushing up on official driving manuals can help you stay in touch with what is and isn’t acceptable behaviour while driving. All of these and more are ways for people to become knowledgeable and prevent accidents.
While I have not been in a car accident myself, I have seen several accidents. I’ve found that these accidents are usually caused by user error. Some examples include ignoring road laws, talking/texting while driving, or doing some other task that could distract them from the road. I feel that if they knew the proper conduct while driving, these accidents would be a lot less common.
To become a better driver, I could take a driving school, practice often, and refresh my memory of road laws often by reading a driver’s manual. I could also help others by monitoring their driving and providing help in certain areas, or even just advising them to find other resources to improve their driving skills.
