As a driver, safe
driving is very important. The amount of teen drivers is steadily
increasing and the risk for accidents due to reckless driving is very
prevalent. Being that I am a teen driver, taking the necessary
courses and participating is driving education is something that all
teens need. Taking the appropriate time out to learn different things
and staying up to date on road safety will definitely help in
reducing deaths on the road. I believe that teens around my age feel
as though driving is only brake and gas or staying within the speed
limit, or watching out for deer, but its far more than just that.
Driving takes time to master, it is definitely not a skill learned
overnight. Driving improvement starts by simply just putting down
your phone and giving the road your full attention. Accidents that
take place often come from teen drivers using their phones will
driving. Another way to improve road safety is less speeding.
Speeding is also a very big issue with teen drivers and causes
accidents to be far worse than they should. Lastly, driving while
under the influence of drugs or alcohol is also a very large issue.
Teen drivers smoke recreationally and drink irresponsible and think
they are able to drive to another location. Putting a stop to these
things is just a start to reducing deaths due to driving and road
safety improvement. I have been in the car with plenty reckless
drivers, not drivers who drive crazy but exceed the speed limit.
Thankfully, I have never been in a car accident, but who knows when
my time will come, when the lesson needs to be learned. As a teen
with much influence on my peers, to help improve better, safer
driving, I can make it my priority to make sure my friends always
have on a seatbelt. I can also make sure they keep their phones away
while driving. Simple steps like that are just a start in the right
direction to reducing deaths due to unsafe driving.
