The biggest responsibility of your teen years

Driving is a huge responsibility and as I have gotten older i have been reminded of the fact that I will need to be able to drive soon both for myself and other people around me.I get reminded every day about how much of a responsibility this is specifically from my mom considering the fact that she is scared to death of the fact that I will drive soon solely because of the fact that I can get into an accident at any time even if it isnt my fault.Personally I am very excited to drive and would like to do it as fast as possible but I also understand that it takes alot of responsibility and I cant take it for granted.People in car accidents are getting younger and younger and thats a very scary thought and it does make me hesitant to an extent but it doesnt make me want to not drive.But in general this topic is kind of touchy for some people because they may know someone thats been in a car accident or they might have been in one themselves.But this is something that we need to fix as a society and when you look at it it seems very easy to fix basically just everybody pay attention when driving and obey the traffic laws.Obviously there is more to it than that like underage people driving or drunk driving but in all it should be easy for everybody to just accept that and stop so many unnecessary deaths.Sadly this is a reality that isnt really possible and that isnt because nobody follows the rules but rather some people do which is terrible nonetheless.When someone goes through everything they need to do to gain the privilege of driving and getting t-boned by someone being impatient.Its heartbreaking and very unfair because that person clearly didnt care in the moment but rather just wanted to get to their destination as fast as possible and they deserved to be punished for that but how many car accidents is it going to take for the law to take every bad drivers licesnse away.They cant because it doesnt matter if they take someones license they could still drive if they gain access to a car and if they dont get caught then that makes the entire system pointless to an extent.Driving recklessly is the main problem thats happening but it can happen under very different circumstances like drunk driving or god forbid someone who doesnt care about their own life and decided that they wanted to go out in a car crash.These are obviously very extreme but its the reality and sure its hard to accept but its what we have to consider whenever just going out to the store or going out to pickup a friend.Accidents are happening more and more and there isnt much we can do to stop it and thats why parents are becoming so much more hesitant to let their kids drive or even start driving.I have driven once I got my permit but it took my parents specifically my mother a long time to understand that I am responsible enough to do this and she is still scared to death whenever we go out and I drive and not because she thinks I am a bad driver but rather that someone wont be paying attention and possibly end my life in only a second.A way that this has been combated is extending the process of getting a drivers license or getting one back for that matter and it seems to be working bu these numbers keep increasing and its definitely a good thing because putting growing adults into a world where they will need to know how to drive and giving them way more than enough information and confidence to go out and do it safely is always a good thing but that also could be a negative because kids with too much confidence feel invincible and they may not know it but they are responsible for not only their life but everybody around them as well and that leads to even more accidents.This entire subject is a difficult one mainly because some people see these numbers and immediately figure hey i’m a good driver theres no way this could happen to me and they dont truly see this problem for what it is and that has to be the only thing people could do now just spread awareness and make sure everybody knows that driving irresponsibly or under influence or even just ignorantly can lead to you not only ruining your life but ruining others lives as well weather that be family,fiends,or just the person right in front of you.
