A time where I experienced being in a car accident was when I was seven years old I was involved in a terrible accident. I remember laughing in the backseat with my sister, only seconds before it happened we were distracted by our finger drawings on the window. My mom was exiting the freeway cautiously because of the rain when the car rear ended us so hard we hydroplated off the freeway and into the nearby trees. I was knocked unconscious, it felt like only seconds had passed before waking up in the ambulance. I can’t help but feel if the person was paying closer attention to their surroundings then we would not have been in that accident in the first place. The benefits of learning to drive defensively are immeasurable. I’m glad we’re okay but honestly, that day could’ve ended in tragedy.

In summary, drivers education programs teach skills that help prevent collisions and in return save lives. It has a huge part to do with helping equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for safe and responsible driving.
