Reducing Driving Deaths

I think that all drivers should be educated on the deaths when driving whether new drivers or experienced drivers. I think that there are many deaths in our country just from driving. People should be educated because if they are educated and know how to be a safe driver then they will know what to do and how to drive correctly on the road. Although people were educated there would still be car accidents but the accidents would definitely be reduced by a lot.

There are many different steps to be taken when people are trying to get educated on how to drive safely. One thing people can do to learn to drive safer is some driving schools of BMV’s offer classes that you can take to be more educated on driving and how it is such a big risk on our lives. Some of the most common causes for deaths while driving is not wearing your seatbelt or texting while driving. These are common things that everyone should be educated on and the ways that the world educates people about these things today is either by commercials on tv or billboards and posters on the sides of roads. People should really start paying more attention to these types of things because a lot of people don’t really realize how often people die from these situations.

I have had an experience of being in a car accident and I was very lucky that I was not hurt and the other person was not hurt. I was driving down the road and at the end of the road there was a gas station to the side and a stop sign at the very end of the road. I started slowing down because of the stop sign and a girl that was younger than me was pulling out of the gas station and was on her phone not watching. I saw her starting to go so I beep my horn but it was too late she ran right into the back of my car. We had to call the police and deal with everything that they had to do for an accident. I was really fortunate that she wasn’t driving fast and neither was I. Neither me or the other girl was hurt and there was only very little car damage to each of our cars. The accident was still enough to get me shaken up and scared. Being in this accident was one of the scariest things of my life and it changed the way that I look at the road forever. It is very different now after I have gotten into an accident because it made me more aware of my surroundings and made me become a more safe and responsible driver.

Sometimes I do see my friends and family driving irresponsibly and that makes me worry about them a lot. My friends are always messing with the radio or eating while they are driving. I try my best to educate them and tell them they should not be doing that stuff while driving and they should pay attention to the road. My parents also do things they are not supposed to do while driving and that really upsets me a lot. My parents are on their phones a lot while driving and they are my parents so I can’t really say much, but I have tried to educate them also. I wish they would understand the importance of what I am telling them when I talk to them about how they shouldn’t be on their phone while they are driving. Phones are very distracting not just when you’re driving but in everyday life. When you are driving with your phone you should put it down somewhere that you can’t reach because no text message or phone call is worth yours in someone else’s life.

The steps that I can take to become a better driver is to make sure that I am not on my phone while driving, make sure I am not eating or drinking while driving, and make sure that my complete focus is on the road and what else is going on around me with other drivers on the road. I believe that everyone should want to become a safer driver and some things that they could do are the same things I would do and take classes on why you should become a safer driver. I think everyone should work on being a safer driver.
