Have you ever seen a car crash in real life? Well, it is horrific. This is why driver education helps you stay on the observant side of things. Driver education is very important in reducing deaths. Being in a driver education program is great. The program helps you understand the traffic laws and responsibilities when it comes to being behind the wheel. Driver education is the main reason why road safety has improved.

You learn different scenarios on how to drive safely, how to pull out onto major highways, many different ways to read traffic signals and how to stop immediately if other cars are in the wrong. It’s also great because they teach you how to control your vehicle in bad weather. How to turn your wheel when in ice or snow, therefore preventing from landing in a ditch. It’s never wrong to keep looking through your driver education handbook to help your knowledge stay fresh. It is so easy to decide to get the right education on driving which is driver-ed and there are some all over the provinces and territories. Which makes it incredibly easy for people to get there. They also provided different education courses which are online courses or in person over a couple of days. There is the cost part which some may not be a fan of but it helps keep your insurance down if you do the course. So why not go and better understand the road and its rules? So that being said, driver education helps death rates go down because it gives people the best insight on how to drive safely.

Some of the steps that everyone can take to reduce the driving death rates are keeping your phone on silent or powered off, Music down to a low, always making sure you have your seatbelt on, and having a limit on night driving. All these little things can impact you greatly if you don’t follow them. Many people have died in car crashes just by being on your phone or not wearing your seatbelt. People don’t think to realize that anything can happen to you at any point in time. Most people will hear about a car crash and think that will never happen to me, but I guarantee you that they thought the same thing. So look twice, don’t have overly loud music, and keep your head up, not down at your phone.

In my experience, I have never been in a car accident, but my friend has been in many. She is not a responsible driver, she goes on her phone, speeds, and does not pay close attention to others around her. One day she told me she hit a tree and not even two days later she collided with another car. She has also gotten numerous speeding tickets. So just knowing all of that makes me drive even more carefully. Truthfully I don’t know how she can drive so carefree with everything that goes on while you drive. It really does impact a person when they see someone close to them not driving carefully, you never know what can happen to them or other people.

To improve my driving skills, I prioritize safety measures such as double-checking before moving, avoiding distractions like phones, always wearing my seat belt, and ensuring my passengers are safe and not causing distractions. I take driving very seriously because I’ve seen firsthand the tragic consequences of car accidents. This has deeply influenced me to prioritize safety and make responsible decisions on the road. In Ontario, 17% of accidents are due to distracted driving, primarily from phone use. Nationally, 26% of accidents involve phone use while driving, reinforcing my strong stance against using my phone behind the wheel. It’s not just about my safety but also protecting everyone else on the road. Studies show that driver’s education significantly reduces accident rates, highlighting the importance of proper training and awareness in preventing accidents.

Overall, driver education is very important for new drivers. It helps them learn all about the importance of driving safely and the rules. Also, it is great to learn ways to keep yourself safe and habits you can learn to keep others on the road safe. Driving is an incredible responsibility to everyone who chooses to get a license, so being overly cautious about everything around you is the number one priority.
