Driver Education Initiative: In the Driver’s Seat:

The importance of driver education to reduce the number of deaths is to help young and new drivers about what could happen when your on the road and to make aware of how to drive the correct way, and this education is not only telling yourself that you can drive but it also tells other people like your peers and your parents that you are capable to get behind a wheel and drive and you know how to operate the moving vehicle. The reason driver education is so important because the classes or the online courses teach the rules of the rose and some of the law that young people are not aware about,the practice books also teach people the signs or the road that are very necessary to know when driving on the road the signs teach and lead people to where they are supposed to be going and what they are supposed to know on the road. Some steps that could be taken is always make sure your putting on a seatbelt because most of the time the police don’t pull a dead buckled body out of a car, another step is to always take your time cause if your late speeding and rushing won’t make you magically ‘not be late’ so always take your time,another step I would take is always being aware of your surroundings because 9/10 most accidents happen because “They didn’t see the driver” so always making sure you’re looking for ongoing traffic, i would also say getting the time to calm down before driving like if you feel really stressed out or your mad at something but has to get on the highway that instant I would take some time to take some breaths before heading off so you have a better head on your shoulders when driving and so you know that nothings distracting the focus you have for driving when you head out. the last thing I would also do is always be honest about any crash or any mistake you made while driving because if somebody ends up suing you for a minor reck and what they said was partially true and whatever you said to the officer that takes both sides of the statement is wrong then it won’t look good on your part and makes it harder to believe who was the one who actually caused the scene. I’ve had experience of being in a car accident because someone in front of us on the opposing side had their brights on to where my mother couldn’t see the orange cones that were in her path of driving, and I have also witnessed my friend get into a minor wreck because some freshman boys weren’t watching where they were going and backed up at a speed of 20 in a school parking lot and ended up smashing into the back of my friends car while we were inside of it. I drive from missouri to lansing so I see a lot of wrecks as I have drove on the highway, the crashes mostly happen when it’s raining or there’s a storm because of hydroplaning which is when you come across a curve and you slide most times you end up on the other end of the road but other times you can also end up in the ditch or flip so it’s very dangerous turning on ice/wet roads this is also because the oil from the concrete on the roads start to come up which is what makes the roads become slippery in the rain. Some steps you can take as an individual who’s driving is to always wear your seat belt and follow the expectations of how a driver can be so that way you can also show other drivers who are not following those expectations that it is important to follow driver education standards. when someone makes a mistake when driving but tries to correct it I would say show kindness even if whatever they did was stupid or childish I would still always show kindness for the fact of correcting their mistake because this then tells them it is ok to accidentally make a minor mistake but as long as you fix or attempt to fix it not a lot of bad will happen to you in your case. Another step i would also take is using your blinkers i would always say to put your blinkers on before half of your 1 mile before turning wherever, this also helps other people know exactly what your intention are this is big key in communicant but in driving crashes that happen to miss communication of a blinker usually happen at four intersection of highway crashes as well.
