The Importance of Education on the Road

The importance of driver education is to reduce the number of deaths on driving. Many people die in car accidents. Education on driving is important because it keeps everyone on the road safe. It also reduces people’s huge medical costs and this is something that impacts someone’s life because money is an issue in this economy. We know insurance and medical expenses aren’t cheap. This is why we need a good education on driving to reduce these issues. Having the education of driving will reduce the number of deaths per year.

The steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving are putting on your seatbelts the moment you get inside the vehicle, and checking that all passengers have them on too. Not being on your phone or having any other distractions, next is looking at your surroundings and following the rules. Maintain a safe speed limit. Many people tend to drive more than the average speed limit which has caused terrible problems for example crashing into things, passing red lights or stop signs or even running over a pedestrian. Also, no drinking and driving under the influence of alcohol because that is one of the main reasons why there are accidents. If you drink alcohol, have someone take your home so you don’t drive with alcohol in your system. Also before your drive check your vehicle to ensure it’s working properly. Following these important steps has been shown to reduce dangerous situations.

Being in a car accident is something someone shouldn’t go through, but unfortunately it can happen when you don’t expect it. I haven’t experienced a car accident or have been in a car with family members driving irresponsible, but my mom has been in multiple car accidents by herself, when I found out that she had an accident my heart dropped because I didn’t expect to receive that kind of news when I was at school, it happened early in the morning so it was scary for me because I last saw her before I had to go to school but once I was in my first class I got a call that she had an accident by the gas station, she was on her way to work when it happened, I felt so bad for her, she went to the hospital because she hurt her chest which was the only thing that happened to her, i’m so glad nothing worse happened to her. Even though I wasn’t in the accident, I still felt her pain and how she felt. I was so worried and scared because I didn’t want anything to happen to my mom. I wasn’t in the accident but this changed my mindset, and a bit of trauma because it was so scary. Now everytime I drive I’m precocious and aware of my surroundings. A car accident isn’t something we can control but you can control how you drive.

All my important steps to be a better and safer driver are to prioritze distractions from phones, phone calls and people talking, especially loud music, also having me and everyone in the car have their seatbelts on, I would also follow the posted speed limits on the road and watch my surroundings and were im driving. I would also check my blind spots all the time to check if anyone is behind me and see if there’s anything I’m sure to worry about. The most important thing for me while driving and what my dad taught me is to focus on the foad and stay aware of my surroundings so I have time to react and avoid whatever is on the road. Especially when you are driving with children in the car. When I have to pick up my sibling from school I always drive even more cautiously because I want them to be safe at all times and I don’t want anything to happen so I always tend to look everywhere and follow the rules. All these steps should also be for other peoples as well because it would help others to be safer on the road and keep everyone safe so an accident doesnt occur.

Overall the importance of being an educated driver and being safe is important because it reduces people losing family and friends due to accidents and money that goes into medical issues or whatever it might be. We want to reduce as many accidents as we can, everyone needs to put in their part and be educated on driving so we can all be safe. Accidents can change someone’s life, they can have trauma and be scared for the rest of their lives. We all need to have education on driving and spread it all over the world so people are aware of the amount of people that die each year due to car accidents.
