The importance of proper education in driving cannot be overstated, every day on the news you hear about another deadly crash. Another person died because someone wasn’t paying attention to the road or was going too fast. I see people staring at their phones as they’re going down the highway. The average speed you can find someone going down the highway is often way above the speed limit. Going at unsafe speeds putting everyone around them in increased danger,

Although sometimes going at the speed limit can be more dangerous than speeding if everyone around you is speeding, then it is safer to go at the speed of the traffic as otherwise you would be an obstacle an inattentive driver could collide with, especially if traffic is exceeding the speed limit by a wide margin.

What can we do about this? The first answer to come to mind would be to invest in better education, thorough education would make drivers understand why the rules are there in the first place and understand the dangers of aggressive driving, inattentiveness, and the dangers posed by bad roadway conditions.

Another idea to help prevent vehicular accidents would be to attempt to reduce things that would distract drivers such as removing the ability for drivers to make phone calls, browse the internet on their phone, to eat while driving or using a navigational object or app, but this is an especially difficult way to attempt to reduce roadway accidents as it would be almost impossible to enforce any of these ideas.

The speed of a vehicle massively affects the stopping distance of a vehicle this makes going over the speed limit very dangerous as you would be unable to stop in time if something were to enter your path of motion, This danger is exacerbated if the driver is not paying attention is sleepy, drunk, or otherwise inhibited in such a way that their reaction time is increased.

But these are not the only issues a driver might face while on the road such as icy or wet roads which reduces grip and introduces the risk of hydroplaning, which cuts all grip to zero. Strong winds which can push vehicles out of control or bad visibility that vastly reduces the time to react to oncoming things.

A combination of multiple of these natural occurrences can create prime conditions for crashes, so knowledge of how environmental conditions affect your vehicle’s handling and your reaction time can be the difference between life and death, making it one of the most important things to know when driving.

A Driver’s education is also very important for proper function of the vehicle in unusual conditions, knowing how to act in case of your wheels slipping is a vital necessity for any driver, and having proper education would reduce the risk of losing control of a vehicle and allow the driver to regain control in a controlled manner without making the situation worse, and an educated driver will know when to be extra careful on the road preventing loss of control in the first place.

Without properly educated drivers the roads would be slow and dangerous. Driving education aims to increase the efficiency and safety of the roadways. Uneducated drivers slow down traffic all around them and pose a danger to them as well. As an uneducated driver wouldn’t know how properly merge when entering highways, or how to respond when encountering aggressive drivers so as to keep both of them safe, more so being properly educated can increase the confidence of new drivers making them more comfortable on the road and less likely to overreact to other drivers.

I haven’t had a crash or other vehicular accident but I have come close on several occasions when people i was driving with drifted out of their lane while someone was passing, forgot which way they were meant to go in an intersection, had a moment of road rage and began driving aggressively or simply didn’t look before they took a turn or drove ahead,

A cool calm demeanor should be kept at all times while on the road, doing this will help me and others near me drive safely and efficiently, and it will allow drivers to act quickly and safely in response to other drivers making aggressive moves, losing control or simply not paying attention.

By being cautious and aware of my surroundings I can put my knowledge of road laws and my experience in driving to safely and efficiently drive alongside other drivers, I can be a good model for those around me by always following road laws and communicating to those around me so that the drivers around have ample time to respond to my movements
