Reckless Drving is Not an Option
Since
I was young I’ve always wanted to learn how to drive. I’ve been
in a car accident, my parents and my Dad could of almost died in one.
So before I learned how to drive I had to learn about the importance
of safety when driving. In drivers ed I learned so much that I didn’t
know before. There are all different kinds of laws and fines for the
road. In class I watched videos of car accidents that happened
because of reckless behavior. Even one of my teachers in the class
friend died in a car accident, her talking about the pain she went
through made everyone really understand why this class is very
important. Car accidents can be caused by reckless behavior including
drunk driving. In class we all tried on different googles that were
to represent what it’s like being drunk. I always see on the news
about drunk driving accidents and it’s horrible to see these people
die and get hurt by others. Also in drivers ed they teach the
importance of not going on your phone when you drive. When I drive I
keep my phone in my compartment, for I don’t get distracted.
Drivers Ed taught me the importance of driving and how dangerous it
can be. Being on the road is very dangerous but by taking a class
teaches how to follow the rules of the road and be a safe driver. I
think steps they should take to reduce the numbers of death is to
introduce another class that is based on just dangerous driving and
show the results of what has happened with drinking driving and
texting while driving. Guest speakers can come to the class and can
speak about their own experiences or the people they loss. I think
that drivers ed is a good experience for everyone because it
taught me how to be safe on the road.
