Drivers safety

The importance of
safety in the driver’s seat is something that I hold very dear to me.
Not only is it a societal issue but is an issue that took the lives
of three dear friends of mine. I want to bring up my three friend’s
to show the importance of driver safety. My friend Lenna was the
driver in this situation, driving two other friends. Everyone in the
school was close and friends, these three were especially known,
Lenna, Christian, and Jaclyn. The three were on the ride back to the
school on a back road that is pretty dangerous and still today three
years later no one knows exactly what happened that made them swerve
off the road and into the three either way the only explanation we
were left to believe was that Lenna was distracted. The car was
launched up a small hill and over the down slanted road around the
turn they hit a tree on the other side. This killed Lenna by
launching her out the windshield, Christian by snapping his neck
because he had a seatbelt on, and jaclyn by launching her around the
car like a bouncy ball. This is a vivid description to show the
emphasis I have on why driver safety is important and why people
especially teenagers. Death can be messy and traumatic even if a
loved one does not die. The trauma from the accident is still severe
and can change a person’s outlook on life uprooting what grapes they
had. Drivers need to practice better safety while in the driver seat
so that they do not get distracted and put their lives and others
lives at risk, risking the factor that they might create those
feelings and that mentality in others. If drivers are properly taught
how to stay focused and avoid distractions such as their phones,
because nothing is more important than your life. This subject is
hard to talk about and a little off subject but the notion is still
there the idea of driver safety being the most important thing when
on the road is still covered. Driver safety is something that people
cheat on to bring enjoyment to their lives to make driving more fun
to make it more entertaining. The adrenaline rush that people slowly
get from goin on their phone or driving under the influence is a
serious issue that is not covered in the towel in driving school or
even taught by parents to the degree it needs to be. My friend’s
story is one of many that needs to be told more often and in detail
so that kids and young adults who get in these accidents fully
understand the dangers so that it can be prevented from ever
happening again or as much as it does. Their story would help people
see the light and more force them to see what can really happen and
how it can affect your life and others lives. Repetition is the only
way to drill this information into the minds of the young. I want to
again reiterate that driver safety is very important to me and that
it should be the first and most important thing taught in driving
school and in the education that parents and drivers ed.
