Fatal accidents
Imagine a world where all people decide to drive in dangerous
manners. Would highway fatalities increase? Would drinking driving
rates escalate? Is drivers ed important? With these questions
in mind, it is important to know about drivers ed before and
while driving on the road.
To reduce the number of deaths overall certain measures should be
taken individually by every driver. Groups of people who go out to
parties serving alcohol should designate a responsible driver to stay
sober and drive each individual home or have a plan in place. Late
last year 3 of my family members were recklessly drinking and driving
with a 2-year-old baby in the back seat. At 3 am he sped on a widened
u-turn when all of a sudden the mother jumped out of the front seat,
leaving her with scrapes and potential brain injuries. The driver’s
first reaction was to call 911 but of course, didn’t because of
their unique situation. So on so forth, in drinking and driving
cases, people who are not intoxicated are more likely to end up in
fatal situations. A relative of mine has crashed many times due to
drinking and driving resulting in innocent lives getting seriously
injured. My father also knew of a worker who had brought his
3-year-old son to his job at a concrete plant. Unfortunately, while
the father was reversing he accidentally hit his son and caused his
death. Even without the presence of alcohol, driving can be
life-threatening. In addition, before letting me drive my parents
asked if I was committed to informing myself on drivers ed
which I said yes to. To become a better and safer driver I’ve
pledged to never drink and drive when I’m older and to always focus
on the road when driving.
In order to help students my age to be safe on the road, I can
inform them on drivers ed and tell them the stories of people
I know who’ve driven dangerously. In conclusion, always stay
vigilant when driving and follow safety rules to avoid fatal
situations.
