Driving Can Be Dangerous

Driving on the road has its limits. After one receives or retrieves their license there are certain rules they have to follow. It is the only way they can keep their license and drive without multiple tickets. Drivers ed is created to help ensure that everyone is secure and safe on the road. It tells the students the do’s and dont’s of the road. Certain things on the road are what they have to pay attention to the most to make them efficient drivers. They can not take chances like speeding during a yellow light and hoping they make it before the opposite side of the intersection proceeds. The turning signals are there to make sure that everyone has a safe drive. Without drivers ed, these little aspects of the road probably would not matter to the driver if they are not being taught properly.

The first step to having a safe and secure ride is to always look in both directions when making an entering the intersection and engaging in those turning lanes. The second step would be to keep both hands or if preferably one hand on the steering wheel and always be aware of where they are. Along with being aware that would mean that all electronics are out of sight unless needed for the GPS navigator. It is very important that the driver is not distracted while on the road and that suggests not being in a telephone call while driving either. Step three is to pay attention to their surroundings, if people are crossing the street then the driver must not speed in a hurry because the pedestrians do have the right away. The last and final step is to not drink while driving or to drive after intoxicated because that is the number one cause for traffic accidents.

There was a time when there was a horrible accident in an intersection that killed one of my high school classmates. He was driving in a small red car and he ran a red light. While he was in the process of running the red light, his car along with himself was caved in under a huge delivery truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Running a red light is never the option on the road just because we want to try and make it across or we rather not wait for our turn. Along with that I still have friends who run red lights occasionally because they want to see if they can make it. Why should we risk our lives when we only have one life to live?

It is important that even not being a driver myself I can incorporate these steps on the road for my friends and family as I already should. There are ways to prevent deaths on the road and it starts with the drivers, not the laws preventing these issues. The road is dangerous but I can make my experience a safer one as well as others.
