Driving on the road is not an easy task to accomplish, there are so many scenarios that could happen on the street or highway in the matter of seconds. Learning to drive is a very serious matter and taking the classes should be taken more seriously. There have been too many deaths across the country caused by car accidents. Car crashes are the number one cause of teenage deaths in America. To reduce the deaths in the country, driving tests should be more precise and harder than what they are now. Each driving exam should consist of driving through neighborhoods, main streets, intersections, highways, and stating all of the signs that are being seen.

At the end of the test there should be a written exam to complete with similar questions that are also on the permit test. It should be this way so people are not forgetting the rules of the road. Another change that can be made is every six months teeangers who have their license should come in and take a small exam on the rules and regulations on the road. The problem is they get too comfortable with their driving, music is playing, people are having conversation and one wrong move can have you and other people around you dead. Driving education should be handled more seriously and driver’s licenses should not be handed to 16-17 year olds with ease.

Personally I’ve never been in a car accident or any type of collision and I’m very grateful for it. There are many times I’ve seen my friends drive irresponsible and most of the time they are broadcasting it on social media. Most times they are going 100mph on the highway or driving without their seatbelt and driving under the influence. It makes me so upset that they do these things when we’ve had more than 3 teenage deaths in our city due to speeding. My grandmother never uses her signals when she’s driving and she’s always running red lights. I always explain to her that just because she’s been driving for 40 years does not mean she’s excluded from a car crash. The number one reason people become bad drivers is they are too comfortable, people should always drive defensively and their eyes should be moving at all times.

To become a better and safer driver I need to keep my eyes moving and pay attention to other drivers around me. If i’m a safe driver that’s excellent, but I still have to watch out for people who aren’t because they could easily crash into me at any moment in time. Using signals and being a proactive driver will help me. Knowing the rules and signs will also help because I wont be clueless driving in new areas. Keeping my distance from drivers and going the correct speed limit is also an act as a safe driver. As a teenage driver, getting a ticket is the last thing that I would want because it leads to bigger problems, and I can just avoid those problems by following the law.
