Safe Driving

Safe driving is important to me as I have not personally been in an accident yet but I was involved in a pedestrian hit and run accident. The suspect had ben drinking and driving recklessly. I was running with a group of 11 of my fellow cross country runners on the side walk on a Monday afternoon in February. The driver came barreling down the neighborhood street too fast and hit 6 of our runners, narrowly missing the rest of us. 3 of my teammates did not survive the accident. Every time I get in the car I think of my teammates and friends who have passed away due to a vehicle and I am conscientious of my action behind the wheel. I work hard on always paying attention to my surroundings, driving the speed limit, and I never look at my phone while driving. It is important to work on driving safe as to prevent unnecessary deaths by vehicle. I am living with the pain of losing friends by a vehicle accident that could have been prevented. That is why driving safe is so important to me.
