Imagine it’s a
late night. You just got out from your friend’s birthday bash and
you’re a little drunk. You stumble into your car, fasten your
seatbelt, turn the engine, and head off to your destination. Suddenly
you get a text from your friend saying you left your coat at his
house. You look down for two seconds and bam. You get hit dead first
by a semi truck and you are now dead. Driving while under the
influence and driving while texting are both dangerous habits that
can lead to the lives of many being affected. Millions of people die
from driving while either under the influence or driving while
texting on a daily basis. 5 seconds is the minimal amount of
attention that a driver who texts takes away from the road. If
traveling at 55 mph, this equals driving the length of a football
field without looking at the road. It is important that we take
action to avoid these scenarios at all cost. If you are under the
influence you should get a ride home from someone else. Don’t take
the keys even if you think you can drive. Impairment is not reliant
upon the type of alcohol consumed, rather the number of drinks over a
certain period of time. Despite myths and misconceptions, coffee, a
cold shower, or exercise will not make a person more sober; only time
will Meaning regardless of how sober you think you are you are still
imparied in some shape way or form.

Take the necessary
precautions before driving. Make sure to fasten your seatbelts. Make
sure to turn your phone on do not disturb mode. Don’t drive drunk
it could cause serious injuries and even death. And most importantly
pay attention to the road.
