In today’s world,
being a teenager means that you comprehend that the world is
perpetually changing. Teenagers attention spans have shrunk because
of the internet and social media. However, in the ever changing
world, there are issues such as safe driving that must be able to
hold our attention for more than six seconds.

Drivers ed is
vital for teenagers if they are to be ready to adulthood with
vehicles being vital aspects of our lives. We use cars to go to work,
see friends, shop, and even go to work. The fact that cars are
engraved in our culture means that teenagers must learn how to
respond in dangerous situations involving motor vehicles. If we as a
society are to lower the number of casualties from driving, we must
draw more attention to the problem at hand. Students must be more
aware of the consequences of driving and the responsibility they have
while driving. They also need to be educated on how to drive without
putting themselves in dangerous situations such as drunk driving and
each student must have access to a proper and reliable education.
This is a skill students will be using for the rest of their lives
and if they don’t know how to use it, they are putting others in
harm’s way.

It is a guarantee
that everyone knows at least one person who has been in a car
accident and if the trend of death from vehicle accidents continues
to rise, they will not be the last. I, fortunately, have not seen any
of my friends or family members in a car accident. However, I have
heard an endless amount of stories every day while at school. Aunts,
uncles, moms, dads, grandparents, and so many more. We all have been
in some way affected by reckless driving and it can be hard to ignore
constant stories on the news. We can not allow ourselves to become
desensitized and we must move forward.

If we are to move
forward, we must tell others if they’re performing reckless driving
practices. We must check ourselves and pay constant attention while
driving on the road. We must spread awareness of the consequences of
reckless driving and offer proper education to future drivers. This
is not a problem that can be solved overnight and it will take
effort. However, we cannot let those who passed from driving to die
in vain. We must learn from the past and maybe soon, we could conquer
the mountain ahead.
