Driving
in Education
The importance if driving in education is that we learn the rules of
the road and proper driving etiquette and safety. By learning this we
could reduce the amount of driving fatalities. If driving tests were
made more difficult we would have less people who don’t care on the
roads. I have been in fender-benders before both by me and others
driving and have come very close to being t-boned on the road, it is
a very terrifying feeling being in either scenario. A lot of my
family drives in a very irresponsible fashion while I know they are
trying to kick these habits it is still worrying. I feel as though a
major step we can take to decrease driver fatality is to have Drivers
Ed as a core class like math or history. I don’t think we should
put kids in the driver’s seat, but I think the teaching them proper
rules early on would help more than having ½ to 1 year of it or not
having a class at all. And if it would help to have the real driving
experience schools could try to get funding for a sort of go cart or
bumper car track to show kids how to drive properly, it would also be
a good way to teach people how to drive both automatic and manual
cars in a safer enviorment.
