Driving
can be a dangerous activity; anything could happen while you are
driving a two-ton hunk of steel down the road. There are many events
that could be avoided if people had the right education about
driving. If people know the right things to do on the road than so
many accidents could be avoided. For example, I live in Pennsylvania
where the winters can be bad. My mom enrolled me into a winter
driving course, and I learned what to do when the car slides or
swerves in the snow. During the winter months I applied what at
learned and also passed it on to other people who may not have known.
To reduce the number of accidents people could be required to take
driving classes annually just so that they are keep refreshing their
mind and not forget how to avoid certain situations. A good friend of
mine told me that they got into a bad accident because the tried to
merge into another lane on the highway, they didn’t know there was
a car in the blind spot of their mirror because they didn’t look to
check. The merged and the other car swerved which made my friends car
swerve and spin out of control. If they would have remembered to
check their blind spot it could have been avoided. I can take more
drivers ed courses to keep my skills sharp to ensure that I remain a
safe driver. To help others I can encourage them to go to classes
themselves or teach them what I learned myself.
