hours in a day
Twenty-four hours
in a day, you know that saying “make it a great day or not the
choice is yours” how do you decide that the twenty four hours in a
day will determine your greatness, is it completing something that is
always postponed, is it meeting friends, or is it getting to say the
things that you were too scared to say to someone when you last seen
them. When these twenty four hours in a day may involve a much needed
eight hours of rest, then an eight our shift at your job, and to top
it off things that may come up last minute that need your attention,
twenty -four hours may seem like twenty four minutes. Well
unfortunately not everyone has twenty-four hours in a day. According
to ecology.com 55.3 million people die each year and according to
dmvedu.org 34,000 people die each year from vehicle accidents which
shows that more people have died from driving then american soldiers
who have died from wars.
Taking drivers
education courses not only help increase your knowledgeability on the
rules and laws for driving but also your ability to prevent accidents
from occurring. Some individuals say drive safe when someone is about
to go to their destination because you never know what can happen in
that time span. Twenty four hours may really be twenty four mins but
with a couple of precautions we can decrease the mortality rates from
driving. Three easy ways to prevent accidents from occurring is first
make sure to always wear seatbelts when in the car whether you are
taking a road trip or just going a few blocks from your house, second
not only make sure that you’re comfortable in your car but make sure
that you have no distractions in your peripheral vision and in your
car in general like high volume music, and third make sure that you
are not under the influence of any sort whether that be drugs or
alcohol because you’re not only risking yourself but others.
I know that I can
remind myself on a daily before I get in the car of these things and
remind my friends as well because as teenagers we do get a little
inattentive to the after effects of the things we do as if what we do
won’t affect our futures but it’s sad to say it does. I will
never forget the time my best friend lost her mother one morning due
to a car accident on her way to work crossing an intersection early
in the morning and it saddens me because I knew her mother as well
and she was an amazing individual. Twenty four hours in a day is not
guaranteed and I think the little precautions we make when driving
can go a long way. I know it may not seem great to you but taking
these little precautions can make others feel great knowing that
their parents got to work safely, or their children got to school
safely or even a friend got to their grandparents house safely
because we decided to spend less then a minute out of our twenty four
hour in a day schedule to take the time to think about the
precautions that can be made when driving.
