It
is important for teens like me to feel safe when driving and driving
education classes contribute to our safety. Driving education classes
prepare you for the road, and also teaches you the basics for
driving. For example, you learn the different colors and shapes of
the road signs you will see while driving. Also, the course will
prepare teens for the road by starting out at the school parking lot
with cones all around, which will limit the number of drivers who’ve
never been on the road. The instructors guide you around the small
parking lot before you take the step and drive on the road with one
instructor. Steps that could be taken to reduce the number of deaths
is encourage teens to take driving courses and then get their
licenses so they can be educated. Also, people can always pay
attention to their surroundings because an accident is not always
your fault.
Unfortunately,
I have been in an accident with my father when I was little and I
can’t remember it completely but the events I do remember was
horrifying. It took place in the rain, which is already dangerous. A
truck was speeding and ended up hitting our car and never stopped and
from what I gathered from my father is we flipped a couple of times
but we both managed to survive. It is extremely important to watch
out for others on the road because they can be negligent. Also, when
people are driving recklessly let them go in front of you and always
keep on your seatbelt. Safe driving includes sitting in your seat
properly with a seatbelt, checking your surroundings, and limiting
your distractions. Distractions like phones, music, and passengers
can cause a serious accident so first-time drivers should focus on
the road not music or picking up their friends until they get
comfortable.
