Learning
how to drive is something most teens look forward to, as it signals
the ability to become more independent. Doing so properly is
incredibly important. One needs to know the manual cover to cover and
do well on the test in order to be a well-informed driver, and these
days with so many people distracted on the roadways, this is crucial.

The
most important thing the new generation of drivers need to ensure
their safety and that of those they are sharing the roadway with is
by staying vigilant. One step you can take in order to maintain
vigilance is by keeping your focus on the road and eliminating
distractions. Society focuses on the importance of always being
connected to social media, but it is not difficult to put the phone
down and respond later. By doing so they will help themselves in the
long run, regardless of what the person on the other end is trying to
tell you, it isn’t as important as saving your own life.

When
I was younger my family was on the way back from an event and we came
to a stop in a four-way intersection. It all happened in an instant,
but we ended up as the car in the center of a three-car crash. I
remember one car hitting us, regaining my breath, and then crying as
the second car hit. I was younger, and I was scared out of my mind.
Then, a few years ago I was on the way to Sunday morning church with
my mother and little sister when we got hit at a red light. The other
car drove off after hitting us, and the only thing either of us
remember was the color; it was a gray-blue.

I
am in the process of learning the information needed to take the
knowledge-based test in order to get my learners permit. While I am
older than a lot of the other people learning, (my family wanted me
to focus on my education before learning how to drive) I am confident
that I will be a good edition to the roadways. I am doing everything
I am capable of to make sure that I will be a safe driver. As someone
in the process, we can read the entire manual and make sure we know
all the information present in the manual so that we are fully
prepared to excel when we take the knowledge-based test. Finally,
taking the time to put your cell phone in a place where it will not
be a distraction to you will be the best choice you can make for your
life and those around you.
