The
mortality rate of drivers to car crashes exponentially grows due to
the amount of
distractions
emerging and unfamiliar drivers. A solution to this epidemic would be
mandatory
driver’s
education. Drivers ed is important for individuals because
they will learn the
safety
rules as an occupant of the road. If people applied the rules given
by drivers ed to
driving
they would notice they are complementary. For example, after one
stops at an
intersection
they should cautiously ease off the brakes and observe their
surroundings before
continuing
to drive. This rule is important because other drivers are
unpredictable. Driver’s
education
teaches and encourages defensive and responsible driving. Those who
intend on
driving
without supervision must be educated in driving in order to be
knowledgeable of the
customs
on the road.
A
resolution to reduce the number of driving-related deaths would be
for more individuals
to
understand the rules of the road. Also one should not be intoxicated
or have distracting
people
in the car when they drive. This would enable them to concentrate and
be aware of what
is
occurring on the street. When remaining close to the speed limit the
chances of experiencing
a
car crash are minimized. You’d have more time to react to what is
occurring on the road.
Speed
limits are a safety suggestion to drivers. It’s the driver’s
responsibility to know the
customs
of the street. The statistics of car crashes should be shown to new
drivers to make
them
aware of the necessity of safe driving.
Unfortunately,
when I was younger, I experienced a car crash with my mother. The
driver
made
an irresponsible decision to turn in front of my mother’s car
blindly from the intersecting
direction
at a red light, resulting in a T-bone collision. Although my mother
and I are alright when
I
drive across that intersection I vividly remember what happened. On
the other hand, I have
heard
stories from high school students who have driven home from parties
intoxicated. Some
people
don’t understand that their body has limits and when they are
operating a vehicle they
are
a hazard to safety.
By
eliminating distractions in the car and being educated in driving I
will become a better
and
safer driver. Due to my lack of experience as a driver, I will stay
mindful of my driving
habits.
I will make wise decisions before I get behind the wheel. When
driving I will avoid placing
myself
in positions where I would be in danger. Being a defensive and
responsible will keep
myself
safe and prepared in case something goes wrong.
