Less Deaths Lies in the Hands of
Teens

Giving an education to new drivers is the first step in making a
progress in reducing the number of deaths of irresponsible driving.
After young adults have been educated in the etiquette of driving,
the rest of the drivers are next. Adults too have an ill manner of
driving, and that can only be adjusted by educating the adults too.
Personally, I have been with my mother and seen her drive over the
speed limit, and she has been pulled over by the cops. Nothing to
over the top. It was not even a couple of miles over the speed limit
just a few like 10 miles over the speed limit. It taught me that
driving even a few miles over the speed limit is not right.

Education
like many other topics such as safe sex and environmentally friendly
choices affects the future of people’s lives. As well as driving.
If the safety of driving starts with young adults, it should be a
required class taught in high school. Having a class when people are
young will allow people to learn and concentrate on the importance of
safety driving. It will also give a useful skill to all teenagers. As
oppose to giving a class to an adult about the education of driving
who might be stubborn and be busy with their lives. Classes will be
short, and the adults will not have the opportunity to focus on the
importance of driving safely. They will be rushing the class to go on
with their lives. Teenagers and especially in their final senior year
have a lot of time to spare. Having driving education in high school
mandatory for seniors will allow them to keep busy. It will allow
them to learn the topic in a well manner time of one or two
semesters, and not be rushed as an adult.

Driving
might be easy to do, but it can also be easy to get distracted and
get into a car accident. I would recommend people to turn off their
phones before they start driving, and it will cause less distractions
on the road. I too will start doing this from now on, and hopefully
in the future when I acquire my license. Also having the radio at a
low appropriate volume level may cause a less chance of getting into
an accident. Being warry about other drivers while on the road too
because one cannot rely on everyone following the rules.

My
mom has been stopped by the police plenty of times. Her being pulled
over has made me more aware on the safety of driving since driving
over the speed limit can cause deaths. It was never anything too over
the speed limit only about 10 miles over, yet those 10 miles could
have prevented one from crashing into a car, pole or even a person.
