Driving
responsibly is not only for your safety but also the safety of other
drivers, passengers and pedestrians. When you are driving, every
action has consequences. Cars can be a tool that we can use to travel
further and faster but they can also be a weapon if they are used
irresponsibly. This is something we constantly have to remind
ourselves; especially with the recent automobile to cyclist accidents
to date(15% – 2019). Drivers ed is necessary so that as
drivers, we are and should be responsible for proper rules of the
road. Daily as a driver  you will have to encounter different
driving scenarios, whether they are environmental or pedestrians on
the road.

Some steps that
we take to reduce the amount of deaths related to driving are:

• Look
  both ways on a cross street.

• At
  a stop sign, you should stop completely and look to see if it is
  safe to proceed. 

• Don’t
  drive in the bike lane.

• 
  Be aware of your
  surroundings

From my personal
experience with friends and family I came to realize that driver
education is very important to have a good judgement while driving.
As a teenager driving can be very exciting and we forget how
dangerous things can get behind the wheel. Also as a teenager we are
in community where social media is pretty much everything to them. We
tend to forget how important it is to use your seatbelt and putting
the phones away.

To help others
become safer on the road you should not drive under the influence of
alcohol or any other substance that would impede good judgment. It is
also very important that you don’t use your phone while driving as
this can be a major distraction and can have terrible consequences.
