The Golden Rule of the road
Drivers ed is crucial to a prudent driver, being knowledgeable
prevents problems and creates solutions. If the people behind our
wheels are educated and advised, the road can be made safe again.
Understanding rules and implementing them in our daily lives can
create a smooth and passive atmosphere in which we can prosper. Death
in many cases is unexpected, but with driver irresponsibility at its
peak; we see sudden deaths increase by the hundredths every day. In
only one day, 3,287 people perish due to reckless driving. Now is the
perfect time to undertake on this task to cease the threat of our
roads.
First, a mandatory installation of airbags would increase driver’s
protection, second, drivers who are careful and have no accidents
should be rewarded by decreasing their car insurance, this will
motivate others to make an effort to put away their phones while on
the road. Lastly, in our world where technology is becoming more and
more present in our lives, we should develop an application guided by
our satellite to follow the course of your car, like a GPS, that will
alert you when to stop. Having a sound alert you of an incoming stop
or traffic light could save your life by seconds instead of having to
look up.
The
gripping fear of an unforgettable car accident could last a lifetime;
my personal experience was when a speeding car who did not stop at a
red light hit us. Even though the vehicle was small it spun our car
in a circle and caused us multiple head injuries. The impact of
having your head banged on the side of the window is an unforgettable
experience, along with the shock you experience after. Everything
about a car accident leaves you speechless because it makes you
realize that any day could be your last.
Through
this experience, I have promised myself to move shrewdly while
driving, to be sagacious and to think before I act. The cell phone is
not to be a distraction, and being observant is key. Using my
testimony, I can affect and influence others to be more careful and
considerate while on the road. Creating awareness wherever I can and
being an example is the best way to help others drive safely.
