The experience I’ve
had while attending Youthbuild charter school was good overall it was
mostly myself thinking negative towards it for knowing I won’t
graduate on time but I digress. The academic experience In classes I
had while attending Youthbuild were good I was being taught a lot of
good information but I’d rapidly lose that knowledge the following
day. Some lessons did not stick to me well. They taught very well but
it was just me who didn’t find it interesting enough to save the
information by heart. The teachers are good like all other schools
you’ll find those you’ll have respect towards and those who you
prolly will bump heads with it you’ll both eventually meet in the
middle. The lessons are good but they don’t really focus on a subject
for more than a couple of days. Again If you are really into the
lesson and are hungry for more knowledge then you’ll have a great
time with the lesson other than that you won’t be getting far
completing lessons if you have a negative outlook towards the
lessons. The projects aren’t as bad as students or staff make it seem
as long as you have enough assignments turned in to pass then you
should be good on completing the project since you have a week in
advance to finish but you might have multiple projects to complete so
try knocking one down each day and look for the ones with the
shortest objectives to complete the project so you have enough time
for the longer projects. The community service experience is good for
the community and also helps you get more involved with the people
that live around you and build for a better place for all to live in.
Youthbuild helps in cleaning up certain areas of the city that
desperately need assistance and also throw events for the community
to get involved. My experience with construction in Youthbuild gave
me a lot of information for later in my life if I’d want to follow a
career in construction I was taught how to properly put up drywall,
molding, framing, door installation and some demolition. I will
certainly keep that information with me always. The experience with
the counselors at Youthbuild are good they will grow a bond with you
and are very trustworthy people to open up to. The Friday leadership
experience I had attended is very informative every Friday there is a
workshop a class where they teach a certain subject that will help
you most definitely in and outside of school.
