IS
IT HARD TO BE RESPONSIBLE?
Winston
Churchill said, “The price of greatness is responsibility”.
A person responsible toward society is never a liability in world.
But Is it really hard to be responsible?
More
than a 3000 people die in road accidents every day, and people
getting permanent injuries are much more than that. But why does all
this happen? The fast-growing world is always fast in changing
priorities in life and this is how it all went down the road. Now no
one really cares about others being affected by their actions.
Busyness of people in lives cannot be blamed for accidents because it
will always remain the same but what can be blamed is their Negligent
behaviour.
Education
is not a one-day process, it takes months and years to learn
something. Same applies to drivers ed, a driver should be
property educated about rules and safety measures on roads which is
done in many countries while the Licensing process of the driver.
This alone can help 50% reduction in injuries if an accident occurs.
But so as to reduce accidents over road, what needs to be taught is
being responsible. Teaching responsibility to people toward others
can be taught by many ways starting from children taught about road
accidents and creating awareness among children, there should be
strict and exemplary fines over rule breaking and strict traffic
police system. Nothing can be enforced to a large crowd without
having a higher authority power, so law must be supreme and strict in
this case. People should have priority of traffic instead of phone
calls, Instagram, surfing etc while driving. This is why the feature
of “driving mode” has been started in phones but the problem is
50% don’t bother to use it and other 50% don’t know about it.
Among other measures upcoming generation should always be taught
about basic life rules like, “Goods work might not come back to
reward but bad will definitely come to bite” and how “Precaution
is better than Cure”.
Yes,
I had experienced accidents, last was about 5-6 years ago but
thankfully none of them were so serious. They taught me to be
responsible and this is the result that I have never a part of an
accident again. Also, the one thing I follow is I always stop my
relatives and family members from being irresponsible and negligent
on road because a mere quarrel on this matter is better than having
lives lost.
Being
a safer driver is not a rocket science, its just that when you are on
roads, make your priority of being responsible toward your and other
lives, because every life has purpose. This alone will remove the
name ‘road accidents’ if properly implemented and further there
is no doubt that Education and Law are two major factors to teach
people TO BE RESPONSIBLE.
