Teen
Driving

Why
is there so many death’s in the streets of America? Why do we let
these horrible accidents happen and not try change anything about it?
I will be going through ways and why so many fatal accidents are
happening to our driving teens also how to prevent them from
crashing.

Driver
education helps reduce the number of deaths while driving. “Young
drivers who have not completed drivers ed are 75 percent more
likely to get a traffic ticket, 24 percent more likely to be involved
in a fatal or injury accident and 16 percent more likely to have an
accident, the study showed” (University). This is showing us that
people who go through drivers ED with low amounts of education on
driving are more likely to have bad driving and get into more
accidents. As in people who have better amounts of knowledge about
driving are more likely to be better drivers. This is important
because less deaths due to driving will be caused. A result to that
the roads will be safer.

The
steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths on the road.
“Among the 8,947 teens between the ages of 15 and 18 nationwide
involved in the study, an estimated 49 percent of males admitted to
texting while driving, compared with 45 percent of females. But
adults aren’t in the clear here- texting also increased with age.
Roughly 58 percent of 18-year-olds engaged in texting while driving,
compared with only 24 percent of 15-year-olds, the data showed”
(texting). This further explains that phones are becoming an
increasing problem for people on the road. This is important because
each day phone related crashes are happening. As a result, if we were
to make something that can make it so phones wont get messages while
people are driving the number of crashes will go way down.

Have
you ever been in a car accident that resulted in a near death or near
injury? Luckily I haven’t. But I have been in the car when people
were driving irresponsibly. Most of the time it’s been speeding or
either whipping around corners and skidding. Every time the thought
of hitting or flipping goes through my head. Saying “what if this
happens”. There has been times were I have seen people get hit and
ejected from their seat for not wearing a seat belt and family being
trapped in their car for hours because of a truck hitting and
deforming their car around them. They are always the things that come
to mind when something risky happens while on the road with others.

What
are some steps you can take to be a safer and better driver on the
road? With car accidents happening every day there must be lots of
people who don’t know what to do if they get hit. some examples of
what to do if you are hit are move off to the side of the road to not
interfere with traffic, stay calm and collected, do not blame
yourself or the other, make sure everyone at the crash is ok and not
bleeding or injured, call police if needed, call insurance company,
get the other drivers information and give your information to the
other driver. These are steps to take at a crash scene but what do we
do to make sure one does not happen? To make sure one does not happen
take away all distractions in your car this includes phones and
headphones. You can also take driving classes to be more prepared for
spotting something bad that can happen. Also keep a watchful eye and
make sure you are always aware of everything going on around your
car.

Through
these steps we can stop so many accidents and make teen be safer.
Weather it be just turning off the phone or just taking another
class. There are far more things that can better solve this topic,
but these are some of the core details that cause the most damage. To
leave it off
