Many
people love driving, especially young teens because of the freedom
and the advantage getting somewhere faster but with that it comes
with a risk. An average of 34,000 people die due to car accidents.
Many drivers are not aware of the of the importance of driver
education classes which can help in reducing the number of deaths
because people become more aware rules and laws.
The
steps to prevent car accidents and deaths from happening to is help
educate drivers on the risk of driving and how everytime they are
driving their life is put on line .The steps are for drivers to keep
in mind that driving fast makes it harder to slow down the vehicle ,
which can cause an accident to occur . Staying in your lane avoids
collisions with another vehicles. Another step is for drivers to
understand is the importance of keeping both hands on the wheel. This
would make texting and driving impossible and gives drivers more
control of their vehicle. Using signal lights helps the car behind
you know where your turning so they can know to slow down. signal
lights also help when changing lanes because it gives the person
behind you the heads up to promptly slow down and give your space to
get into the other lane. Always wearing a seat beats restraint your
body from going into the windshield. Buckling up saves so many lives.
I
have been in one car accident about 2 months ago due to a reckless
driver. I was leaving home to go out with a friend and while stopping
at a division waiting for ongoing traffic to cross, A reckless driver
made a U-turn and knocked the side of my car. The knocked caused the
bumper of my car to fall in the middle of the road. The accident
happened so quick that my react time was poor. The accident taught me
that even though you might be following driving safety rules others
may not. Therefore, it’s always good to have good driving defense
skills and wear your seat belt because with a knock like that I could
have went through my windshield if I had not worn my seat belt. We
may not have responsibility of what happens to us but ,we have the
ability to make sure we don’t do it to others.
